Trade Old Clubs for
CGC Pro Shop or Range Credit

Trade-In Days are back! Just in time for Father's Day and graduation gifts!

Come take advantage of our special Trade-In Days promotion June 5-15. Get rid of your old or unwanted golf clubs and trade them for CGC Pro Shop or Range credit.

You DO NOT have to buy anything to take advantage of this trade-in opportunity. That's right, absolutely no purchase necessary!

If you want to use your trade-in credit to buy something right then and there, you can. Or, save the credit on a CGC gift card or CGC range card for yourself or your favorite golfer.

This is a great opportunity to "buy" presents with no cash out of your pocket! They don't have to know how you got them such a great present - just that you cared enough to do it!

Easy Drill to Improve Chipping
A Quick Tip from Instructor Chuck Anderson

I bet you thought a pencil was only good to "write" with. Here's a way a pencil can get you on the "right" path to better chipping.

The most common cause for hitting a bad chip shot is the (right-handed) player's left arm and left wrist collapsing at impact. This causes loss of distance and directional control of the shot.

Hitting solid, accurate chip shots requires coming into impact with a flat left wrist. An easy way to learn this impact position is to try the "Left Wrist Pencil Drill."

  • On your left wrist, stick an unsharpened pencil (or pen) under your watch band and extend it between your wrist and the back of your hand. This will automatically flatten the wrist.

  • Take a few practice strokes and brush the grass with a slightly downward attack. Feel how the pencil prevents the release of your left wrist at impact.

  • Hit some chips, making sure you contact the ball first with a slightly downward strike while brushing the grass after impact.

  • This will probably feel very strange for some of you, especially those who have a tendency to "cup your wrists" or decelerate or try to "lift" the ball on chips.

  • Stay with it and remember perfect practice makes perfect shots.

Chuck Anderson is a Champions Tour Associate and has been teaching golf for more than 35 years. He instructs beginner, junior and private lessons. Click here for more info about Chuck or call the pro shop to schedule a lesson.
