Private Instruction Info
(See below for Schedule & Rates)
Let's face it, golf is a difficult game. It challenges, frustrates and gives us pure joy…usually all in the same round. We all love the feeling of succeeding and having fun at golf, which is why we practice and play. Take lessons to gain confidence for your next golf outing…if you have the desire, you'll have the ability.
Golf perfection is unattainable, but game improvement is not.
Whatever your current level of skill, from beginner to low-handicap, professional golf instruction is your ticket to improvement and shaving strokes off your scores. CGC's group of experienced PGA and LPGA golf instructors provide the perfect mix of patience, positive reinforcement and a sense of humor to make learning fun.
Practice alone only grooves your bad habits and makes them permanent. It is better to learn the proper fundamentals from the beginning, as it is much easier to learn the right way than to "un-learn" the wrong way.
Take lessons and learn to:
- Hit it long and straight
- Change your trajectory of ball flight
- Cure your hook or slice
- Get out of sand and trouble shots
- Reinforce correct swing mechanics
- Putt with more consistency and accuracy
- See your swing compared to PGA and LPGA players
- Eliminate mental mistakes on the course
- Practice properly and effectively
- Hit from uphill, downhill and side-hill lies
- Manage your game on-course
Video Lessons: All private lessons include video at no extra cost. Compare your swing to PGA and LPGA Tour players. During your lesson, you'll see the areas where you need improvement and you can immediately start to correct them while working with a pro.
Juniors Lessons: All our instructors teach juniors at a reduced rate, with the recommendation that children be at least 5 years old before receiving formal teaching. Inquire about beginner group sessions for juniors.
Make your own group: Grab a friend or family member for semi-private lessons on your own schedule. You'll have someone to learn with, play with and help you remember what you learned. Plus, you'll save money by taking lessons at the same time.
Post-lesson practice: Taking lessons at a driving range just makes sense. After your lesson you can immediately set to work implementing all that you learned.
PLEASE NOTE: Sheri Hayes, Chuck Anderson and Dori O'Rourke are independent contractors. All private lesson payments with independent contractors must be paid directly to them: all of them accept cash or check and Chuck and Sheri also accept credit cards. Each of them is responsible for fulfillment of all pre-paid lessons, contact them directly for information on how many you have remaining in a series. All other instructors are CGC staff. Please schedule and make payments for lessons with any of them directly to the pro shop.

Two thumbs upIt’s not only the sign of a good movie, but in golf, it translates to straight shots. The angle of clubface at impact is the most important element in hitting a straight shot. The “thumbs up” drill is a great way to gain awareness in this area. Take half swings waist high. At the waist high position, observe if your thumbs are pointing upwards on the backswing and the same on the through swing. As your thumbs are rotating in this matter so is your clubface. |
